Terms and conditions
Valid for orders placed from 1 September 2026.
1. Scope
These terms apply to all orders placed with Luma Lights through this website, by phone or in one of our showrooms, whether you buy as a consumer or as a business. Terms of the customer that differ from these do not apply unless we have agreed to them in writing.
A consumer is any natural person who places an order for purposes that are predominantly outside their trade, business or profession.
2. Conclusion of the contract
The product pages on our website are not a binding offer but an invitation to order. By clicking “Place order” at the end of checkout you make a binding offer to buy the lamps in your cart. We confirm receipt of your order by email straight away. The contract is concluded when we send a second email confirming dispatch, or when we ask you to pay in advance.
Before you place your order you can review and change all entries on the summary page. We store the text of the contract and send it to you together with these terms in the order confirmation.
3. Prices and payment
All prices include the statutory value-added tax. Delivery costs are shown in the cart before you place your order; orders over €100 are delivered free of charge within Germany.
You can pay by credit card, PayPal, SEPA direct debit or invoice. Payment by invoice is due within 14 days of delivery without deduction. We reserve the right to offer invoice payment only after a credit check.
If you pay by SEPA direct debit, we will collect the amount no earlier than the day of dispatch. You will receive the pre-notification with the order confirmation.
4. Delivery
We deliver to addresses in Germany, Austria, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg and France. Delivery times are shown on each product page and in the cart. If a lamp is temporarily unavailable, we will tell you without delay and refund any payment already made if you do not want to wait.
Large floor lamps and pendant sets are delivered by freight forwarder to the kerb; the forwarder will contact you to agree a delivery window.
5. Right of withdrawal
Withdrawal information
Consumers have the right to withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving any reason. The withdrawal period is 14 days from the day on which you, or a third party named by you who is not the carrier, take possession of the last lamp of your order.
To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us by a clear statement, for example a letter sent by post or an email. You may use the model withdrawal form available on request, but this is not required.
Effects of withdrawal
If you withdraw, we will refund all payments received from you, including standard delivery costs, without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the day we receive your notice. We may withhold the refund until we have received the lamps back or you have supplied proof of having sent them back. You bear the direct cost of returning lamps that cannot be sent by normal post.
Exclusions
The right of withdrawal does not apply to lamps made to your specification, such as custom cable lengths or engraved bases.
6. Warranty and guarantee
The statutory warranty rights apply. In addition, we give a voluntary three-year guarantee on the electronics of all LED lamps sold under our own brand. The guarantee does not affect your statutory rights; its conditions are included in the box of each lamp.
7. Liability
We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the Product Liability Act. For slight negligence we are liable only for breach of an essential contractual obligation, limited to the damage foreseeable and typical for this type of contract.
8. Final provisions
German law applies, excluding the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods. For consumers, this choice of law applies only insofar as it does not remove the protection granted by mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which they have their habitual residence.
The European Commission provides a platform for online dispute resolution. We are neither obliged nor willing to take part in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board.
